Gospel of John Lsn # 283, 'Building A Truth Tower'
There’s something extraordinary about an ordinary life which is faithful in learning biblical truth
and orienting to God’s grace.
This is actually the most unusual life of all and the one that requires the most dedication.
Under operation grace within the experiential plan of God, there’s no such thing as an ordinary
life; even though every life is filled with countless tedious details.
Under the principle of grace, everything in the Christian life depends on Who and what God is,
never who and what the believer is.
Unbelievers don’t need us, they need the Gospel of Jesus Christ; therefore, we need to
communicate the Gospel to them.
And believers don’t need us either, they need the mind of Christ in them and when life is related
to the mind of Christ, it has fantastic impact.
We do not have to completely immerse ourselves in an unbeliever’s philosophy or viewpoint to
win him; we just have to know the Gospel.
If faith in Jesus Christ is founded on logic, it can be refuted by logic.
The objective of witnessing for Christ is not to win a debate, not even to present a logical subject
to debate but to present an absolute subject; the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy
Spirit does the rest.
The greatest gift to mankind is truth and truth comes in a three-volume set.
Volume I. The Bible, a book we can trust; John 17:17
Volume II. The Son of God, a Person we can love; John 14:6
Volume III. The Spirit of truth, an Enabler we can rely on; John 14:17
We are not sanctified or set apart to God by legalistic religious practices or anything else that we
do; we are only experientially set apart to Him through the mind of His Son; the Way, the Truth
and the Life, in us.
If you are a believer, you are just as much a part of the plan of God as our Lord in His humanity
was during His First Advent.
God’s purpose for our lives cannot be fulfilled until our very own soul structure has been
completed.
The Lord Jesus Christ built a towering soul structure and in so doing, He shows us that it can be
done by us also.
Are you learning the Word of God daily to prepare for your ministry?
The filling of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God sustained the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross
when no one or nothing else did.
When we build a soul structure, the results are permanent; in other words, it’s built to last!
Developing a soul inventory as building materials for our soul structure is not a one-second or
one-shot deal; it’s a series of thousands of positive decisions regarding God and His Word.
Emotion will not carry us even in the short term, so it certainly cannot sustain us over the long
haul.
We can only serve God as we come to know Him through His Word and are obedient to it.
As the message concerning Jesus was heard, understood and believed; the disciples’ hearts and
minds were captured so that they would seek to do His will and not fulfill Satan’s desires for
them.
In the spiritual sense, this is where biblical truth, God’s building or construction material comes
into the soul and when this happens, we begin to build a structure on the Word of God, a
structure that is framed with grace-orientation, inner happiness, a relaxed mental attitude,
capacity to love God first and all others second and a mastery over all the details of life.
So, in context, God the Holy Spirit is the builder and biblical truth is the construction material,
especially residual or stored truth in the soul.
The churches were strengthened, edified or built up and walking in authority-orientation to the
Lord and for that reason, their faith-rest lifestyle catapulted them into such a state of occupation
with Jesus Christ that they quickly experienced the priceless comfort which only the Holy Spirit
can provide.
This means they had divine power to work with in the production of divine good and all these
things added up to a large church expansion based upon the growth
of individual believers with very healthy souls.
In other words, we actually have an ideal church here where virtually everyone is relaxed
because inside of each of their souls was a carefully constructed super structure.
The Holy Spirit’s building material of biblical truth is equivalent to oxygen and so, we must
inhale God’s Word as we are filled with the Holy Spirit so we can exhale confident faith in Him
mixed with our personal love for Him and we can love others as Jesus loves us with
unconditional impersonal love for them and we can even properly appreciate all the details of
this life.
Our soul building is the bridge to spiritual maturity and rapid construction of this establishment
comes from application of the mind of Christ while under maximum pressure.
WE HAVE SOME BIBLICAL SYNONYMS FOR THE SOUL STRUCTURE:
Christ at home in your hearts, Ephesians 3:17.
Christ formed in you, Galatians 4:19.
Put on the new man or new self, Ephesians 4:24; Colossians 3:10.
The finished work of perseverance, James 1:4.
Christ in you, the hope of glory, Colossians 1:27.
