Gospel of John Lsn # 282, 'Warning: The Truth May Set You Free But It Will Also Get You In Trouble'
Church Age believers in Jesus Christ are born-again citizens of a Kingdom that is far
beyond this world and that’s how we may be in the world but at the same time, we never
have to be of it.
Six Conclusions from John 17:16:
1. The world emphasizes self-improvement while the Word of God emphasizes
understanding grace leading to regeneration, followed by spiritual growth.
2. There can be no compromise between the world and Christianity.
3. The world can only influence a believer’s soul, it cannot infiltrate his body.
4. The soul can only be compromised when a believer negatively reacts to biblical truth.
5. Through the vacuum in the soul of the negative believer as a result of rejecting God’s
truth, the doctrine of demons enter; 1st Timothy 4:1.
6. When a believer-priest is responsive positively to the Word of God, he builds a soul-
inventory which provides protection and encouragement for him to grow up spiritually.
The Father is the author of the plan of God; therefore He’s not an agent but under Him
there three agents and in case you were wondering, believers are not agents representing
themselves.
The agents of our sanctification do all of the work within the sanctification contract and
since under grace there is no place for human good works, there’s no place for us to do
anything to contribute to our sanctification.
In Phase 1 sanctification, regenerate mankind, the Royal Family is positionally higher than
angels and this is exactly why Christianity is not just another religion, it’s a living vibrant
relationship.
In Phase 2 sanctification which is also related to the angelic dispute, the spiritually mature
believer occupied with the Person of Jesus Christ, glorifies God, resulting in a tactical
victory which honors our Lord’s strategic victory.
In Phase 3 sanctification, the Royal Family in resurrection bodies are not only positionally
but physically superior to angels and that’s yet another tremendous blessing we anticipate
for our future in eternity.
There is no sanctification in the Church Age outside
of those who personally believe in Jesus Christ.
Were it not for the unique Person of the universe, the Lord Jesus Christ as the God-man
and His efficacious saving work on the Cross for us, there would be no sanctification in the
human race, meaning no one would be set apart to God, period.
Biblical truth in our souls is the means of our experiential sanctification or our being set
apart to God for the purpose of glorifying Him.
We are protected by our daily functioning in the experiential plan of God through
consistent learning, understanding, believing and applying
biblical truth.
If we are not progressing, it’s because we’ve chosen to remain in a state of negative reaction
to, instead of positive response to God and His truth.
But of course, Satan can and does counterfeit practically everything within God’s plan
except for its most vital ingredient; GRACE!
The sovereign decree of Creator God and the free-will of His creatures known as mankind,
meet at the intersection of His love and His grace.
Absolutely nothing under any circumstances, surprises God.
Distinction should be made between that which God causes, like the Cross and that which
He allows, like sin.
Mankind’s volition or free-will is the origin of sin in the human race.
God has never nor will He ever solicit anyone to become involved in evil but He sure warns
against it
God knew exactly what we would need at every point in our lives, so based on His
foreknowledge, He has provided everything we would ever need on earth in eternity past.
God initiates salvation through the Cross but it must be our free-will response in accepting
His offer of His provision for all mankind to seal the deal for us.
For example, when a person rejects the Lord Jesus and His sacrifice for them, he has no
desire to experience the Lake of Fire but he will.
